Dr. Brianna Brewer, PT, DPT

Brianna’s love for the southwest and mountains brought her to Flagstaff, AZ where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Strategic Communications with a minor in Spanish from Northern Arizona University. From there, she decided to pursue a career in health care due to her passion of helping people and fitness. She worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant for 6 years before earning her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from South College in Knoxville, TN.

She absolutely loves the specialization and working with the pelvic floor population. Whether it is for pregnancy and postpartum moms who want to have a safe pregnancy and allow them to return to their normal activities without issues, or working with patients who experience pelvic pain and dysfunction that is causing a significant disability in their everyday life. She treats both females and males, as well as other areas of orthopedic and neurological conditions, and is certified in dry needling.

Outside of the clinic, you will find Brianna exploring the great Colorado mountains through hiking, camping, biking, and paddle boarding. She lives with her husband, Dane, and their dog, Xochi, in Arvada. Together, they love to travel to learn new languages and try new cuisines.

Alexis Niccum, OTR/L

Alexis is an Indiana native who has found her way to Colorado for her love of the outdoors and vast array of holistic wellness opportunities. She graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelors Degree in Kinesiology and a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from New York University. She grew up working with children and adults with disabilities which initially led her into a career of occupational therapy. Throughout her career, she has worked with a wide spectrum of populations in various settings and has now made her way into pelvic health therapy.

Aside from physical modalities, she has a passion for teaching people how to heal their own bodies and making them feel empowered to reach their full potential. Through a unique skill set, Alexis specializes in helping people to down regulate their nervous system and put them at ease in order to get to the root of the problem. She believes most physical issues must first be addressed at an emotional level. Her favorite treatment technique is using the Dolphin Neurostim, which is a game changer for scar healing, vagus nerve stimulation, and pain relief.

Outside of her professional life, Alexis enjoys being outdoors connecting with nature, reading, spending time with her Golden Retriever, meditating and playing instruments.

Dr. Andrea Nied, PT, DPT

Dr. Andrea Nied, PT, DPT has been a Doctor of Physical Therapy in Colorado since 2011, when she moved to Arvada immediately after finishing physical therapy school at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Andrea has extensive experience working with all orthopedic conditions, as well as a specialization in pelvic health, dry needling, abdominal visceral mobilization, Maya abdominal massage, and spine rehabilitation. Her favorite treatment technique is dry needling because of the quick results it gets her patients!

Dr. Andrea decided to pursue a specialization in pelvic floor physical therapy due to her personal struggles with postpartum health. After the birth of her daughter in 2016, Dr. Andrea was experiencing low back pain that wasn’t going away with her typical physical therapy work. Then, 6 months after her daughter was born, she decided to take a pelvic floor course, and was blown away that her back pain immediately went away that weekend! The pain was actually coming from the pelvic floor and not her back! She was hooked! After her son was born in 2017, Andrea successfully treated her other postpartum problems including bladder leakage, prolapse, and pelvic pain.

In 2018, Dr. Andrea and her family moved to London, UK where she became a fully licensed UK Physiotherapist and started a successful physical therapy practice during the COVID pandemic by focusing on serving those in her local community. She is also a certified APPI Matwork Pilates Instructor. In 2021, Andrea, her husband, and two young children made the decision to leave London and return to beautiful Arvada. In her free time, she loves hiking, paddleboarding, skiing, and playing with her dog, Murphy!

Stephanie McNees, Office Administrator

Stephanie is a wife and mother of 2. She’s originally from Oregon but has lived in Colorado for over 15 years now. When Stephanie is not working, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, thrift store shopping, baking desserts, traveling and working out on her Peloton.

She believes pelvic floor health is so important and loves being able to help women fulfill their goals of getting back to feeling like themselves again. She has a passion for advocating for patients to get back to fitness postpartum and resolve pelvic floor issues. As a mom herself, she loves seeing moms bring in their kids and help them get care that they deserve.

Shanna Grimes, Office Administrator

Shanna is a Colorado native and graduate from the University of Colorado at Boulder (go Buffs!), and has always had a passion for health and wellness. She has two decades of work experience in administrative and client services across a variety of industries, and previously owned her own photography business. Shanna was drawn to this position at Movement Physio & Wellness because she truly enjoys being a part of a holistic practice that empowers and supports women in their healing journey and helps them get back to the activities they love!

Shanna lives in Golden with her husband, their two sons, a golden retriever and two very entertaining parakeets. She loves traveling, photography and gardening, and loves living in such a beautiful state that offers so many opportunities to be outdoors and active.
